Olathe Complete Streets Discussion
Date: Monday, February 06, 2012
Time: 6:30 PM
- 8:00 PM
Would you like safer and more accessible places to walk and bicycle in Olathe? How about more options for getting to work, school, church, or the store? If you live, work, or play in Olathe, please join us for an open discussion about making the city even better for walking and bicycling.
Cities around the metro area and the country are creating Complete Streets policies with the simple idea that cities should be designed with everyone in mind - pedestrians, bicyclists, children, seniors, and more. BikeWalkKC, KC Healthy Kids, and KanBikeWalk are teaming up to start a discussion about how improving walking and bicycling can make Olathe a better place to live, work, and do business.
Topics will include safe walking and biking to school, bike lanes, ADA access, safer routes for seniors, trails, and much more. We will show how local ciities like Lee's Summit, Lawrence, and Leawood are using Complete Streets policies improve their quality of life. and we will listen to your ideas for improving walking and bicycling in Olathe.
Light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP to help us plan for the event and ensure we address your specific concerns.
Registration is free.
