NutraNet A great Kansas City resource for teaching kids about healthy food choices is Nutra-Net, founded by Peggy Hausheer. This program provides teacher training and lesson plans on the special nutritional needs of students of all ages. Participating children learn to make better use of their food resources, saving time and money and improving their health at the same time. Materials for two different age groups are available.

Walking School Bus The Walking School Bus is a program that is catching on nationally. Kids walk to and from schools safely with volunteers. Kids arrive to school awake and ready to learn. Parents can get involved. A walk is a healthy start for everyone!
