Beginning Farmer Wholesale Project

The Beginning Farmer Wholesale Project helps new farmers in our region grow their businesses and scale up local food production to respond to the increasing demand for local food in the wholesale market.  

The project was designed for urban and rural producers in operation for no more than 10 years who want to sell more produce to wholesalers. Services include mentorships, technical assistance, farmer-to-buyer matching, foodshed GIS mapping and workshops on growing, handling, and marketing produce for wholesale the wholesale market.

Partnering agencies include Cultivate KC, Kansas State University, KC Healthy Kids, West Central Missouri Community Action Agency, The Kansas City Food Hub, and University of Missouri.
