With our Champions for Health youth advocacy program, kids learn how to speak out for healthy changes in their communities. They can set personal health goals, investigate how neighborhoods can promote or discourage healthy habits, write to city leaders about barriers to health they have seen in their own communities and, as a group, develop an action plan to make lasting change in their neighborhoods. KC Healthy Kids’ staff provides technical support and connects groups with additional resources to help make their ideas come to life.
