Description

Please join KC Healthy Kids, Kansas City Community Gardens and Jackson County Health Department to gain resources for Early Childhood Education Centers and Prekindergarten classrooms.  Learn about curriculum, local snack options and programs to help you incorporate healthy snacks and outdoor education into your day.  Agencies will provide information making it easy to incorporate healthy eating and active living efforts at your site!

Early childhood education staff and teachers are encouraged to attend.  Food service staff or others prepping food are also welcome.  Presenters will be providing hands on activities creating snacks that are kid approved using healthy and local food.  We will also provided recipes and tips for institutions to incorporate fresh and local food in their menus.

Missouri Early Childhood and Youth Development Training Professionals – clock hours available. Attendees will receive 2 Clock Hours in Promoting Healthy Eating: “Gardening with Kids – Growing Fruits and Vegetables to Use as Healthy Snacks”  Attendees must provide their MOPDID number to receive training credits. Certificates of course completion will be available upon request.
