Empower youth to speak out for healthy communities. Champions for Health teaches students how their surroundings impact their health and how to create change through advocacy.

Champions for Health provides simple standard aligned lesson plans and student materials. In these interactive lessons, upper elementary and middle school students serve as leaders to advocate for healthy eating and active living in their school or community.

Students explore three progressive stages:

  1. Healthy Habits
  2. Healthy Communities
  3. Speaking Out for Healthy Kids

All activities are aligned with both Missouri and Kansas learning standards as well as the National Health learning standards and Presidential Youth Fitness standards.

New for the 2020-2021 school year!

We have three versions of the Champions for Health program available for online learning, independent study and in person classroom instruction.

  1. Champions for Health Online. Students become Champions for Health by completing the three completely web based activities. Students can even share their work with teachers.
  2. Champions for Health: Independent Study Guide. The independent study version of Champions for Health is designed to be self-guided for upper elementary and middle school students learning from home.
  3. Champions for Health-Classroom Teacher Guide. The full program guide is designed for classroom teachers grades 3-8. The program guide includes learning standards and objectives, complete lesson plans, student worksheets as well as posters and PowerPoint presentations for in person instruction.
